Pāhonoa te oro

After cleaning, place a large gauze pad with a cut halfway through so it can wrap gently around the drain tube. This protects both the tube and the surrounding skin. Next, place a non-adherent Telfa pad on top of the gauze to prevent sticking to the wound. Then, wrap two layers of conforming gauze over the pads to hold them securely in place. Check that the bandage is snug, but not too tight, to ensure drainage and circulation are not restricted.
