Scarlett had stopped sitting still.
The moment the engine died, something shifted in her.
What had started as annoyance was turning into something else—something sharper.
“This can’t be happening,” she said, pacing along the deck.
“There has to be something you can do.”
No one answered her straight away.
That only made it worse.
She turned toward Captain Harris.
“You’re the captain, right? So fix it.”
