Jessie almost laughed. “Yeah. You got mad because I burned the sausages.” “You did burn them,” she whispered.
“Still ate them though.”
“Yeah…” her eyes fluttered. “Guess we weren’t that smart.”
Jessie tightened the bandage, hands stained red.
