Pāhonoa te oro

Who needs candles when an orange can glow for hours? Place the orange in a glass and cut the peel completely around. Next, slide a spoon beneath the peel to loosen it from the fruit. Repeat on the opposite side, then remove the top half. Gently wiggle the fruit from the bottom, keeping the white center attached to the peel. Pour olive oil over the center until soaked, then fill the peel halfway. Light the center, and as it burns, it draws oil through the fibers like a wick, creating a simple hom
