And then—his dad burst through the trees.
“Tom!”
“I’m here!” Tom shouted, running toward him.
They met and his dad pulled him into a tight hug.
“I’ve been looking all night,” he said.
“I stayed in one place,” Tom replied.
“That’s exactly what you should’ve done.”
Tom looked around again.
Now the bush didn’t feel so scary.
He wasn’t alone anymore.
