This man sold the Eiffel Tower. In the 1920s, a con artist named Victor Lustig made history. He pretended to be a government official. He invited scrap metal dealers to a private meeting. There, he explained that the Eiffel Tower was too expensive to maintain and would be dismantled in secret. Everything looked official. One man paid him a huge amount of money. Lustig disappeared.
