"In 1944, in a small town in South Carolina, a 14-year-old Black boy named George Stinney was outside with his little sister when two white girls, ages 8 and 11, asked him for directions to some flowers. The next day… their bodies were found beaten to death. Police arrested George the same afternoon. No parents. No lawyer. They questioned the tiny 95-pound boy for hours… and claimed he confessed. There was zero evidence. No written confession. Nothing. His one-day trial lasted just a few hours.
