“Am I wrong for not telling anyone what happened in the elevator?”
I got into the elevator after school. I was alone… I think.
A man was already inside. He didn’t press any buttons. He just stood there, facing the door.
Halfway up, the elevator stopped.
Lights flickered.
Then I heard something on the roof.
Scratch… scratch…
Like something crawling above us.
I looked at the man. He whispered:
“Don’t look up.”
The elevator jolted.
THUD.
Something landed on top.
The lights went out.
