【Why does a compass point north?】
A compass has a small needle.
The needle is a magnet.
A magnet has two ends:
N (north) and S (south).
The Earth is like a big magnet.
The north part of the Earth is actually a
south pole.
N and S pull each other.
So, the N side of the needle
is pulled to the north.
That is why a compass points north.
