She can't leave it, so she brings it home, only to get a cold-blooded welcome from her father. "What do you plan to do with that pathetic, weak stray, daughter of mine?" he barks. "You have a duty to stand above the rest. Don't waste your time on useless things. Only do what helps you win, or you're no better than that dog—ready to be tossed out."
