The specific events will have moved by the time you read this. The
structural forces driving them won't.
Every book about a moving target has the same problem. By the time it
reaches a reader, some of what it describes has changed. The technology
has moved. The politics have shifted. Events have overtaken the
analysis.
This chapter is an attempt to acknowledge that honestly, and to do
something more usef
