Once we’ve collected data, we can build a 3D model of the foot. We form the midsole to the shapes of the shoe and the user’s foot, and apply varied infill density to add extra support in the parts of the foot that need it most. We then send the model to the 3D printer which takes about 40 hours to print each sole. After cleaning up the print, we pour several patches of gel to strategically support certain parts of the foot. Finally, our midsole is ready to be used.
