Sticking bread on a metal pole during a thunderstorm sounds like a wild shortcut to toast, but it would go badly fast. The only realistic way to use lightning for toast would be to somehow store that energy safely in a huge power bank, then use it to run a toaster — enough, in theory, for more than 20,000 slices.
