In the morning, normally the weather and news would play. This would shape how people had conversations, where whatever was on the news showed up somewhere in peoples’ discussions. It was able to influence discourse and give people something common to talk about. Another example of this would be how children have talked about the same shows they’ve watched on their TVs.
