Pāhonoa te oro

I was driving to my parents’ place late at night when I got a call from my wife. She was already there. She’d gone ahead earlier. I answered, and she immediately whispered, “Are you still on the road?” I said yeah, about 20 minutes out. She goes, “Okay… stay on the line. Someone just tried to get into the house.” My stomach dropped. I asked if she called the police. She said, “Not yet. I thought it was you at first… they were using your name.” I didn’t say anything for a second. Then I t
