The shadow moved slow… deliberate… like it was learning how to walk. Not drifting. Not flickering. Stepping. One careful inch at a time across the wall. My phone buzzed again. Another clip. The angle hadn’t changed. Still the hallway. Still my door. But now the shadow had depth. It wasn’t flat anymore. It peeled away from the wall… like it was separating from something it had been attached to. I swallowed. In the video, my bedroom door began to open wider. I didn’t touch it. I swear I didn’t.
