Every night at 2:13am…
someone tried opening her bedroom door.
Slow.
Careful.
Like they didn’t want to wake her.
But she lived alone.
The first night… she ignored it.

she checked the house.
Nothing.
Doors locked. Windows shut.

she stayed awake.

The handle moved.
Slowly turning…
