Pāhonoa te oro

I didn’t realize anything was wrong… until I started noticing things moving. At first, it was small. So small I convinced myself I was imagining it. A bathroom cabinet I was sure I had closed… slightly open. My toothbrush facing the wrong direction. The mirror shelf—not wide open—but just… not the way I left it. Then things started going missing. A shirt. A pair of underwear. Nothing expensive. Nothing obvious. Just… personal things. I told myself I was being forgetful.
