In January of 2026, a call for service was broadcast in the Chicago area regarding a male subject reported to be brandishing and discharging a firearm near Martin Luther King Drive and a nearby commercial shopping block.
Trooper Riflekit of the Illinois State Police responded to the call and initiated a pursuit of the armed suspect.
The pursuit concluded at a local business, Baba's Philly Cheesesteaks, where the suspect entered a restricted staff area.
