Chapter 2: Night Falls
Tom walked for what felt like hours.
At first, he told himself he would find the track again. It had to be close. It couldn’t just disappear.
“I’ll find it,” he muttered under his breath.
But every direction looked the same.
Trees. Bush. Shadows stretching longer as the light faded.
He kept moving, pushing through branches, hoping something would look familiar.
