Meanwhile Senator Kelly is kidnapped by Magneto’s henchmen and taken to a secret island where Magneto reveals a massive machine that he built to solve the mutant problem once and for all by using his own magnetic energy to power a device that triggers mutations in normal humans. He uses it on Senator Kelly to turn him into a mutant against his will just to prove a point and to show the world that they should be careful what they wish for but the process is incredibly painful and leaves the senat
