Three months after the breakup, I saw her in a supermarket. She didn’t look good. Worn-out jacket. A bit of weight gain. In her basket, Frozen pizza and a can of soup. We talked. Turns out her dad is seriously ill,… maybe only a couple of years left. She’s moving out because she can’t afford the area anymore. Struggling to find stable work. And me??? I looked amazing. In shape. Fresh tattoo. Been going to therapy. Doing everything right. For a few hours, I felt on top of the world. Like I was
