Pāhonoa te oro

On the surface, this looks irrational. Streaming is cheaper, faster, and effectively infinite. Vinyl is slow, fragile, and per track about twenty times more expensive. And yet vinyl sales have now overtaken CDs in the UK for the first time since 1987, led by a generation that has known nothing except the algorithmic feed. So is this just nostalgia? Aesthetic branding? Or is something more sociologically interesting happening — a quiet refusal of how digital platforms shape the way we listen?
