Picture this. A nineteen-year-old walks into a record shop in East London. She grew up with streaming. She has never owned a CD in her life. And yet — she pays twenty-eight pounds for an album she could stream, right now, for free. According to the British Phonographic Industry, UK vinyl sales in 2024 hit their highest level in thirty-five years, and much of that growth is driven by listeners exactly like her — people under twenty-five. My question today is simply: why?
