81% of U.S. adults suffer from some sort of foot pain. Many of them turn to shoe inserts to ease their discomfort, but there are a few problems with the most common consumer inserts. Not all shoes are designed to be used with inserts. Commercial inserts are a one-size-fits-all solution and can have limited benefit, or even hurt the user. Custom inserts are much more effective but can be prohibitively expensive, ranging from three hundred dollars to over a thousand.
