There are places in this world that don't want you there. Not because they're dangerous. Not because of weather, or terrain, or predators hiding in the brush. But because something older than all of that… is watching. I learned that lesson in the Halden Forest. A stretch of old-growth woodland in northern Norway that most locals won't enter after September. They say the trees go quiet in autumn. Not the peaceful kind of quiet. The kind of quiet that makes your pulse climb without knowing why. I
