As the X-Men return to the mansion with their heads hanging low because they failed to protect Rogue and let Magneto slip through their fingers the situation at the school becomes even more intense as Senator Kelly somehow escapes from Magneto’s island and washes up on a beach nearby with his body completely transformed into a liquid-like substance that he can barely control. He manages to stumble his way to the Xavier Institute because he knows it is the only place where people might understand
