1.2. The evolution of research ethics
Ethics, one the main branches of Philosophy, deals with the question of “What is good?”. It is also known as “Moral Philosophy”. The term is also used as a synonym for “morality”, or a set of moral rules; therefore an act can be identified as “unethical” if it does not comply with these rules.
“Research ethics” is a sub-branch of ethics. It includes a specific set of rules – which will be mentioned throughout this module - for protecting the life, health, a
