A photographer from a food magazine asked her to describe her journey in one word for the caption.
Hannah looked at the restaurant—her kitchen, her name, her child asleep in the back room in the care of a woman she trusted, her husband's hand warm at the small of her back—and gave the photographer a smile that had nothing apologetic left in it.
"Inevitable," she said.
