I turned slowly.
Every instinct told me not to.

In the dark.
Barely visible.
But enough.
It was me.
Or something that looked like me.
Same height.
Same face.
Same clothes.
But wrong.
Its head was slightly tilted.
Its smile…
Too wide.
Too still.
It didn’t blink.
Didn’t breathe.
Just stared.
At me.
Then it spoke.
Without moving its mouth.
