Public pressure became so intense that the FBI reopened an investigation against Epstein, and on July 6, 2019, arrested him and imprisoned him in the New York Metropolitan Correctional Center. Epstein again tried to bribe the judiciary, but this time his efforts failed, and he was sentenced to 45 years in prison. Alexander Acosta also resigned just six days after Epstein's arrest.
